The Yose-Ue style
Forest or group planting

The Yose-ue style in bonsai is distinguished by the presence of multiple trees in the same pot, thereby creating a miniature landscape. The goal is to simulate a natural scene, such as a forest or wooded hill, on a small scale. At the center of the composition is usually a main tree that acts as the focal point of the ensemble.

Around the main tree, other trees of varying sizes are arranged in a way to create a balanced composition. These trees can be of different species, but they must be compatible in terms of care and needs. The branches of the trees are trimmed and shaped to give the impression of natural growth and variety in the miniature forest.

The entire arrangement aims to recreate a natural and harmonious aspect, capturing the aesthetics of a nature scene in a small space. The Yose-ue style allows bonsai enthusiasts to create fascinating and evocative landscapes through the art of bonsai.
