Pinus thunbergii, or Japanese black pine, is a hardy, salt-tolerant evergreen conifer native to Japan and South Korea, known for its dark green needles in bundles of two, furrowed blackish-gray bark, and irregular, often windswewept shape, making it popular in coastal landscapes, rock gardens, and as bonsai. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerates drought, and is often used for its texture and structure.

Not sure about cultivar. May be Arakawa . Barks up early, but not full Cork bark. May be Hachi Gen. Seems to grow very well in Midwest usa.
