The Ishitsuki style in bonsai is characterized by the use of a stone as the central element in the composition. This stone is generally inclined or leaned, thereby creating a unique base for the tree. The tree's roots are carefully wrapped around the stone in a way to securely cling to it.
The tree branches emerge from the stone or the places where the roots are attached. They are arranged in a way to follow the shape of the stone, thus creating an aesthetic balance. The trunk may exhibit curves or twists to add character to the composition.
The whole creation in the Ishitsuki style aims to harmonize the tree with the stone, thus creating an image of nature that has survived and evolved in challenging conditions.

Owner's note :
Le lierre est rare en bonsaï, si l'obtention et l'entretien sont très facile, le formation est quand à elle très complexe. Pourtant ces petites feuilles lobées en faisaient un candidat parfait.

Comment tailler :
On espacera les tailles pour éviter d'épuiser l'arbre. Taille de structure en janvier/février. Apparemment il est conseillé à la suite d'une taille de retailler l'extrémité des rameaux.

Comment arroser :
Abondamment pendant toute la période de croissance. On essaiera de laisser sécher la motte entre deux arrosage.
Fertilisation :
Tout au long de la période de croissance, engrais organique, mais avec un taux d'azote réduit.
Période de rempotage : Tous les 2 ou 3 ans
Composition du substrat : Bien drainant, 100% akadama ou pouzzolane conviendra parfaitement.
Protection :
On évitera de l'exposer plein soleil. Pas de protection particulière l'hiver. Il n'est pas sensible aux courants d'air.
Reproduction :
Bouturer un spécimen est très simple, on le trouve facilement en pépinière à moindre cout.
