Taxodium Distichum (Bald Cypress, southern-cypress, swamp-cypress, red-cypress, yellow-cypress, white-cypress, tidewater red-cypress,
gulf-cypress). a deciduous conifer native to South Eastern United States.

Bald cypress is a gymnosperm and produces a round cone up to an inch in diameter. Male flowers open in the spring to release their pollen which is carried by the wind to the female flowers. The cone produced by the female flower starts green in the summer and into fall. As the cone matures late in the season it dries, opens, and shatters.

purchased from May's nursery 05/2024

was a dual tree, wavy trunks because of bindings. Roots were bound together. partial twisted.  added an additional twist and lean when potted.  slip pot with partial root positioning.  pinned together with single M1.7x10mm screw; 07/2024

second trunk did not leaf second season.  left dead trunk twisted with live. Moved to a flat spread pot.
