BENI KAGAME (Espejo Rojo)
El bonsái Acer palmatum 'Beni Kagami' es un cultivar de la subespecie “Matsumurae”,
Este cultivar es apreciado por su color rojo intenso que mantiene bastante bien si no recibe exceso de sol directo que lo vuelva verde, aunque necesita luz para mantener el tono.
Requiere ubicación en semisombra para evitar quemaduras en sus delicadas hojas rojas, especialmente en verano.
Necesita riego regular para mantener el sustrato húmedo pero sin encharcamientos, suelo ácido (pH 5.5-6.5) y bien drenado.
Se trasplanta cada 1-2 años en primavera y se poda tras la caída de la hoja.
Cultivo:
Ubicación: Exterior, a semisombra. Protege el 'Beni Kagami' del sol directo intenso de mediodía y vientos secos, que queman sus hojas finas.
Riego: Moderado y constante. No dejes que el sustrato se seque por completo, pero evita el encharcamiento. Aumenta la frecuencia en verano.
Sustrato: Mezcla bien drenada, preferiblemente ácida (tipo Akadama mezclada con volcánica o sustrato específico para acidófilas).
Abonado: Orgánico, de primavera a otoño, evitando abonar en exceso en pleno verano si hace calor extremo.
Poda y Alambrado: Poda ramas principales en otoño/invierno (reposo). El alambrado se hace mejor en invierno o primavera temprana sin hojas.
Plagas: Cuidado con el pulgón, cochinilla y araña roja.
