Stile con tronco contorto
Lo stile Nejikan nel bonsai è caratterizzato da un tronco fortemente contorto e irregolare. Questo tronco presenta curve e torsioni pronunciate, dando l'impressione di essere stato scolpito dagli elementi naturali. Le torsioni nel tronco del Nejikan possono variare in intensità, da curve leggere a torsioni più drammatiche.
I rami del bonsai Nejikan sono spesso pochi in numero rispetto al tronco massiccio, e possono anche presentare curve e torsioni. Le foglie o gli aghi, a seconda della specie di albero, possono essere di piccole dimensioni, ma sono generalmente proporzionate alla dimensione del bonsai.

Punica granatum ‘Nana’ (Dwarf Pomegranat)
Dwarf version of the fruiting pomegranate. Small deciduous shrub has glossy green leaves and bright orange-red flowers that appear on the tips of its fine-leafed stems from early summer through fall. It flowers abundantly during the hot days of July and August. The small 2” fruits are edible and the fruit hangs on the plant for many months. Plants can be maintained under 2’ in height and tolerate dryness and a restricted root system. Best worked in early spring.
received during bonsai course 07/2024 from Kawa No Oka Bonsai
attempted to root root cuttings spring 2024. got one from woody branch to root.
Spring 2026, didn't leafout till late April, while the cutting from same tree leafed out in in late March. Perhaps not enough fertilizer prior growing season.
